Mobile RV Repair in Plant City, Florida
Between Tampa and Lakeland, with one week a year when every site for twenty miles is taken and nothing can be moved.
Plant City runs on an agricultural calendar, and so does its RV demand. For most of the year it is a quiet corridor town between Tampa and Lakeland with coaches parked at resorts and on farm properties. For one week in late winter the Florida Strawberry Festival fills every site for miles, nothing can be relocated, and a breakdown means fixing the coach where it stands or not at all.
We are mobile - we come to your RV in Plant City. Call 888-759-1438.
Two very different service pictures share one town. Eleven months of the year Plant City is long-stay and residential; the twelfth is the densest short-notice RV demand in Hillsborough County.
The practical difference is not the repair - a slide is a slide - it is whether moving the coach is an option. During festival week it is not, and that changes what a sensible plan looks like.
What happens to RV repair around the Strawberry Festival?
Availability collapses and relocation stops being possible, so the calculus changes.
During that week a coach on a site cannot generally be moved without losing the site, and there is nowhere to move it to. That makes on-site repair the only realistic route, and it makes the difference between a one-visit and a two-visit job much more expensive in practical terms than it usually is.
What helps, and it costs nothing: when you book during that window, give the make, model and year of the coach and the exact symptom. A control board or an actuator that is specific to your model is the thing most likely to turn one visit into two, and knowing it in advance is what lets the right part be on the truck.
If you are coming for the festival, the useful preparation is a pre-trip check before you set off rather than a repair after you arrive. Roof terminations, seals, batteries under load, generator under load. An hour at home beats a scramble in a full field.
Why do the state parks near Plant City have hills when the rest of Florida does not?
Because one of them is not natural ground.
Alafia River State Park sits on reclaimed phosphate mining land, which gives it elevation change you will not find anywhere else in the Tampa area. Hillsborough River State Park just north has genuine Class II river rapids, which is close to unique in Florida.
That matters for two systems. Sloped sites push automatic levelling systems closer to the end of their travel, so a cycle that aborts here may simply mean the coach is outside the system's range rather than that anything is broken. And a site that is not flat is where jacks sink overnight - mark the jack rods before bed, and if the rods have not moved but the coach is lower, the ground gave way and no repair fixes it.
Both parks are full-facility state park campgrounds, and Florida State Parks publish that those include water, electricity and a dump station.
Do you work on coaches at farms and rural properties?
Yes, and a good share of the Plant City work is exactly that - a coach on a gravel pad behind a house, or parked at the edge of a field.
Rural storage brings its own fault list. Ground that is soft after rain and hard in drought moves jacks around. Uncovered storage under open sky is worse for roof sealant than anything else on the list. And rodents in an agricultural area are a genuine problem in generator bays and appliance compartments rather than a theoretical one.
What we need from you is a description of the surface and the access. A technician with a ladder on soft ground after a week of rain is a different proposition from one on a concrete pad, and it is better to know before the visit.
Is Plant City on your Tampa side or your Orlando side?
Rate-wise, Plant City is inside our Orlando and Lakeland area, so the figures in the pricing table on this page are the ones that apply here rather than our statewide service call.
Geographically it sits between the two metros, which is why we get asked. Practically it makes no difference to how the job runs: written estimate first, your approval before any work starts, and anything found past the first hour quoted before we carry on.
What is worth checking on a coach that has been sitting on a farm property?
- Pests first, before anything else is powered up. Generator compartment, furnace and water heater exteriors, refrigerator vent. Chewed wiring found on a driveway is a repair; found on the interstate it is a recovery.
- The roof and every sealed termination, because open-sky storage is where they fail unobserved.
- Battery voltage under load, not at rest.
- The generator started and run under load, not idled.
- Jack rods and pads - look at the chrome for scoring or corrosion, because that is what decides whether a jack is resealed or replaced.
- Tire condition. We do not fit tires, but a set that has aged in open sun on a rural pad is worth taking to a specialist before a long tow rather than after.
How much notice do you need in east Hillsborough?
Normally same-week, and less for anything stopping you travelling or letting water into the coach.
The exception is festival week, when demand across the whole corridor spikes at once. If you know you will be here for it, booking a check before you arrive is worth more than trying to book a repair once you are on a site.

Plant City RV repair questions
Can you come out during Strawberry Festival week?
Yes, and it is our busiest week in this part of the county. Book as early as you can and give us the make, model, year and the exact symptom, because during that week nothing can be relocated and a part that is specific to your coach is what turns one visit into two.
My levelling system aborts at Alafia River State Park. Is it faulty?
Possibly not. That park sits on reclaimed mining land with real slope, and automatic systems level rather than lift - park across enough grade and the controller runs out of travel and stops. Correct side to side with blocks under the tires first, then let the system do front to back.
Do you service RVs parked on farm and agricultural property?
Regularly. Tell us about the surface and the access when you book - soft ground after rain changes what is safe to do with a ladder, and it is better to sort out before the visit than on arrival.
Something has been chewing the wiring in my generator bay. Can you repair that?
Yes, and the repair is the easy half. The important part is exclusion, because a bay that has been found once will be found again. Blocking the access route matters more than the splice, and it is worth doing before the coach goes back into storage.
Is there a dump station at the parks near Plant City?
Florida State Parks publish that their full-facility campgrounds include a dump station, which covers Hillsborough River and Alafia River. For the county park, check directly rather than assuming - arriving with full tanks on a guess is a bad afternoon.
Which rate area is Plant City in?
Our Orlando and Lakeland area, so the pricing table on this page is the one that applies here rather than the statewide service call. The rest works the same everywhere: written estimate, approval before work, and anything past the first hour quoted before we continue.
How far do you travel around Plant City?
Across east Hillsborough County and the communities around it - Dover, Turkey Creek, Springhead, Thonotosassa, Seffner and out toward Lakeland, plus the state parks north and south of town. Travel is inside the service call rather than billed separately, so there is no mileage to work out. Give us the address, or the park and site number, when you book.
Should I get an inspection before towing to the festival?
It is the single most useful thing you can do, because once you are on a site during that week your options narrow a lot. Roof and seals, batteries under load, generator under load, and a look at the running gear. An hour at home is worth a great deal more than a scramble in a full field.
